Dear WIS Families of Grade 5 Students,

As we are quickly approaching the end of the school year, we have planned some special events to celebrate our fifth graders’ time at WIS, and to help the students as they get ready to transition to middle school.

On Wednesday, May 22nd the fifth grade students will participate in an all-day Field Day. As a special treat to the students, the PTO will be bringing an ice cream truck as a fun way to end the day. Additionally, the PTO will be offering lunch to the students on June 7th. More information about this will be coming soon.

To help ensure a smooth and successful transition, the students will be visiting Weston Middle School the first week in June.  The students will leave from WIS and walk to the Middle School where they will be greeted by Mr. Dan Doak, the principal of WMS, and Mr. Dru Walter, assistant principal. The students will get a tour of the building and hear about life as a sixth grader.

  Tuesday, June 4:

  • 8:50am departure from WIS -- Mrs. Lynfield and Mrs. Verdi’s classes
  • 12:50pm departure from WIS --  Mrs. Balzi and Mrs. Miller’s Class

·       Thursday, June 6:

  • 8:50am departure from WIS – Mr. Brod and Mrs. Huynh’s classes

Lastly, to celebrate the students’ years at WIS, we would like to invite you to our end of year “Fifth Grade Celebration”. We are so proud of how much the students have grown and learned over the last three years and are looking forward to taking time to celebrate and acknowledge their accomplishments. The Celebration will take place on Wednesday, June 12 at 9:00 a.m. in the WIS Cafetorium with a reception in the courtyard afterwards for the students and their guests. Please note that due to space restrictions, we can only accommodate two guests per student.

It has been such a pleasure getting to know your children. We will miss them next year, but I know they are well prepared for middle school.  I look forward to seeing everyone on June 12th.

Warm Regards,

Patricia Falber, Principal
