Hello WIS Families and Community!

Here are some updates on what has been happening at WIS in the past few weeks and also some reminders about upcoming events:

  • We would like to remind all families of our cell phone policy on the bus. This is from the WIS Community Handbook which can be found on our website: Electronic devices can be used to communicate with caregivers, listen  to music with headphones, or to read. Social media, movies and games are not permitted. I would like to reiterate that under no circumstance should students be accessing social media while on the bus.

  • All smiles today at Picture Day! Reminder that make ups are Friday, November 17th.

  • WIS will be celebrating Halloween on October 31. Look for more details about this in the week to come.

  • The Book Fair was a huge success last week! Thank you to all of the parents who helped make this event happen. Our students and staff enjoyed it immensely.

  • We continue to enjoy our Book Vending Machine. Students are "Caught Being Kind" for going above and beyond with kind behavior and receive a special coin from our Kindness Team which can then be used in the Book Vending Machine. Everyone is loving this! We will be having a contest to name the machine; more info on this when it happens.

  • Congratulations to members of our WIS Student Council which was announced recently. Take a look at this fun STUDENT COUNCIL INTRO from Mrs. Rinas.

  • We will have a Whole School Meeting this Friday, October 20. We love these assemblies which bring together the entire student body and staff. Students will find out about our first Pride Paw Celebration at this event.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Warm regards,

Leslie Ford, Assistant Principal
