Dear WIS Families,
Here are a couple of special events that are coming up soon:
Halloween:
With Halloween fast approaching, we have developed some guidelines to help ensure a safe and fun day for everyone. We are so excited to have our students celebrate with us on Tuesday, October 31st and have outlined a few rules about costumes that we ask students to follow. Also, just a reminder that we ask that any treats being sent into school should be peanut and tree nut free.
Costume guidelines:
Students should wear costumes that allow them to be able to fully participate in school activities including sitting comfortably in class, participating in recess, and possibly P.E. if it is on their schedule
For safety reasons, no weapons, or toys that simulate weapons, or gory props are allowed. These will be taken away if they are brought into school
Eye masks/Hats may only be worn in the classroom during times designated by the teacher (during the class party)
Student costumes should not be overly graphic or depict violence, blood, or gore
We spent time this morning during our whole-school assembly reviewing and explaining these guidelines with the students, and we appreciate your support in helping them follow these guidelines.
Parent-Teacher Conferences:
Information should be coming home soon from your child’s teacher on how to sign-up for the upcoming parent-teacher conferences.I encourage everyone to sign up for a time to meet with your child’s teacher. The conferences can be done virtually or in-person. These conferences are a wonderful opportunity to speak with your child’s teacher and hear about the progress and growth your child is making so far this year.
As a reminder, the adjusted arrival and dismissal schedule times listed below will be in effect for parent-teacher conference days:
Thursday, November 2 – 2 Hour Delayed Opening (10:30 start time)
Friday, November 3 – 2 Hour Delayed Opening (10:30 start time)
Monday, November 6 – 12:35 Early Dismissal
I hope everyone has a good weekend!
Warm regards,
Patricia Falber, Principal
