Dear Parents/Guardians of 5th Grade WIS Students,

The purpose of this email is to let you know that we are holding a lottery for the spring session of the Introduction to Coding class for 5th grade WIS students.  The spring session is only open to those students who have not yet participated in the class.

The class will introduce students to coding concepts and thinking skills.  The class meets in two separate, concurrent sessions Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:30am-8:15am in Room 213.  The spring session Tuesday class will run 3/19/24 - 6/4/24.  The spring session Thursday class will run 3/21/24 - 5/30/24.

Due to limited space, we will be placing students in the class using the aforementioned lottery system.

If your 5th grade child is interested in participating, please email me (ruddanderson@westonps.org) with your 5th grade child’s first and last name, placing ‘CODING’ in the subject line.  Be sure to indicate your child’s availability (Tuesday Only, Thursday Only, or Both Tuesday and Thursday) in the body of your email.

E-mails must be received by 3pm on Tuesday, 3/12/24.  I will reply to emails with “Got it.” to let you know that your email was received.  If your child’s name is drawn to participate, I will be contacting you by the end of the day on Thursday, 3/14/24, with information about the class, including which day your child will be taking the class.

If you do not hear from me by then, it means that your child’s name was not drawn for the class.
