Weston Intermediate School
June 15, 2025
Dear WIS Families,
As this is our last Weekly Family Update for the year, I want to take this opportunity to share a few words before I retire. It has been an incredible 30 years in Weston—first as a teacher, then as an assistant principal, and for the last 16 years, as Principal of WIS. I find myself filled with mixed emotions. It has truly been an honor and a privilege to work alongside such dedicated students, staff, and families. The memories we’ve created together will stay with me forever. I have loved every moment spent helping our students grow, learn, and succeed. The recent dedication of the new Innovation Lab in my honor was deeply touching, and I am truly grateful for such a meaningful gesture. I was beyond surprised and honored by the unveiling. While I am excited for the next chapter, I will undoubtedly miss all of you! Thank you for your trust, your partnerships, and the joy of working with such an incredible school community.
This has been another strong year of learning and growing. At the Board of Education Board meeting tomorrow night we will be presenting our end of year data where I’m happy to report that we’ve either met or exceeded our goals. I have included information below on how to access all your child’s assessment data.
I wish everyone a wonderful summer! Please encourage your child to keep reading, and there is also a link below for more summer fun where they can find lots of exciting activities to keep learning.
PTO - Thank You A big Thank You to our PTO - you have supported us in so many ways this year. From our new grade-wide fun events and school-wide enrichment activities to our PRIDE rugs, bathroom decals, and playground equipment, and our incredible new Innovation Lab. Thank you so much! You do so much for our school and our students. A heartfelt thank you goes to our PTO president Stephanie Feingold, and the Executive Board: Kellie James, Alexandra Cercone, Jenny Plant, Ellen Crafts, Catherine Vodola, Elizabeth Bergman, and Josie Staudmyer.
WIS Yearbooks If anyone wants to order a yearbook at this point, you will have to order it directly off the yearbook website, the PTO does not have any more left over yearbooks at this time.

Summer Learning WIS Students and Families! Check out the link below for everything you need to keep learning, exploring, and staying sharp during the break.
We can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ve discovered and learned when you return in August! Enjoy your summer and keep on learning!
Planning for Next Year If for any reason, your student is not returning to the Intermediate School or not transitioning to the Middle School next year, please reach out to our registrar, Tina Hefferan at tinahefferan@westonps.org. This will give us time to prepare withdrawal paperwork before the summer. We know when families are moving, the receiving districts may need transcripts or information prior to the end of the current school year.
25-26 School Year In late August, you will receive an email announcing the opening date for the parent portal in PowerSchool. Class assignments and bus routes are available when the portal reopens in August which is typically the week before school starts. You can also anticipate the Meet the Teacher event for third graders which is August 25, the day before school starts. The first day of school is August 26 and is a full day of school.
Thank you again for your partnership and support. It has been a privilege to lead such an amazing school. Have a wonderful summer!
Sincerely, Patricia Falber Principal
