Dear Families,
I hope this message finds you well and you are enjoying a joyful and restful summer! My name is Mrs. Jennifer D’Amico, and I’m thrilled to introduce myself as the new Principal of Weston Intermediate School. It’s an incredible honor to join such a vibrant, student-centered community, and I’m genuinely excited for all that lies ahead.
I’ve just returned from a memorable family vacation where I had the joy of spending time with 17 family members, celebrating graduations, anniversaries, and simply being together. We lovingly refer to it as “mandatory family fun,” and there’s truly nothing better than unplugged, quality time with the people who matter most. It was the perfect reminder of the power of connection, something I look forward to fostering with all of you this year at WIS.
Professionally, I bring with me 18 years of experience in education as both a teacher and school leader. While my role has evolved over the years, I remain, at heart, a teacher first. That perspective grounds my work and guides my decisions every day. I believe deeply in keeping students at the center of all we do, nurturing their academic growth, supporting their emotional well-being, and helping each child discover who they are and what they’re capable of.
On the home front, my husband and I are the proud parents of four children, a college junior, a college freshman, a high school senior, and a high school sophomore. So when I say I understand the excitement, joys, and occasional chaos that come with these transitional years, I truly mean it!
As I step into this new role, I’m looking forward to building strong partnerships with you. Communication, collaboration, and community are cornerstones of my leadership approach. I can’t wait to meet your children, listen and learn from all of you, and work together to ensure that Weston Intermediate School continues to be a place where students feel safe, inspired, and excited to learn every day.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, ideas, or just want to say hello. I’ll be in touch soon with more updates, but in the meantime, I hope you enjoy every last bit of summer.
With excitement and gratitude,
Jen D’Amico
Principal
